If you are planning to do both you should prepare to get a license before you start a career in a real estate. Actually there are 2 types of license in all the states. Lincensee that can be both a broker or an agent. But a broker should have more knowledge than the agent.

Better to get a licensed but you need to enroll to a university that offer course about real estate... A agent is under a broker... It means that a Broker are in a high position compare to a agent..

Agent and Broker both are different person.. Brokers are generally required to have more education and experience than real estate salespersons or agents. The person you normally deal with is a real estate agent or salesperson.

The salesperson is licensed by the state, but must work for a broker.  All listings are placed in the broker's name, not the salesperson's.

A broker can deal directly with home buyers and sellers, or can have a staff of salespersons or agents working for him or her.

To give you the correct answer, A real estate agent will vary in definition in different countries but in USA to be particular, to distinguish broker to an agent, broker are the one who decides the highest possible price of an owned real estate property while the real estate agents are those who search and negotiate with buyers. It's a bit off topic but if you are decided to increase your potential as a broker or real estate then you must know three things:

1. Time management

2. Product knowledge

3. communication skills

And that all I can say but be sure I'll give you more tips in the future. Have a nice day fella!
